So… we have been using sporks to eat (we travel with a cooler filled with food). This morning after we had eaten yogurt, I was driving so I handed the spork to Jeff. He was getting ready to put it somewhere to be washed later and I told him to go ahead and throw it. To that he replied, “Save the spork!”
Seriously though, being in Oregon, a very conservation based state, has brought up conversations about re-cycling, the logging industry vs. conservationists, protecting the forests and wildlife, etc. We are not extremists, but we love the environment and every time I see a ship being loaded up with logs, a truck hauling logs, or a hill that has been clear-cut my stomach cringes.
As far as the environments inhabitants, observing the sea lions, seals, elk, bear, birds, mountain goats, bison, and all the other wildlife we’ve seen in their natural environment is way better (and more exciting) than paying to see them in the zoo! And we should protect them!
